Through the end of August and into September we ran a giveaway offering fans of Krotos and sound design the chance to win a copy of Weaponiser. Weaponiser is the powerful sound design sampler that allows you to design, customise, and perform a huge range of sound effects at high speed – all from within one plugin.

Once again it was fantastic to see such a great turn out. But, there can only be one winner and that winner is Terry Meighan, congratulations Terry!

We caught up with Terry find out a little bit about him and how he will use his prize.

Terry Meighan, winner of September's Weaponiser giveaway

Over to Terry…

About me

I’m a student at Perth University of the Highlands & Islands in the 4th year of my audio engineering degree and hope to graduate next year with honours. I started my journey at Perth UHI at NC level and worked my way though the course with help from the amazing tutors and facilities. My interest in sound design and music production grew from a fascination with music during my teens. I’ve been a guitarist and vocalist for over 20 years mainly producing my own material but recently have developed a passion for sound design for film, TV, and gaming.

How the prize will help me

Last year we were given and assignment at uni where we had to design the sounds for a computer game similar to Doom. Having recently tried the Weaponiser plugin I am sure it would have been instrumental in achieving more accurate and realistic sound effects for my project. I’m also expecting a relatively similar project this year for my sound design module and I’m positive the ease of use of the Weaponiser plugin will help me to attain a decent final grade.
