Getting started with Krotos Studio
How to download Krotos Studio?
Click on the button Download for Free Now appearing on this page:
https://www.krotosaudio.com/p/krotos-studio/
Then, choose if you want the free version of Krotos Studio or Krotos Studio Genesis.
Both versions will include Krotos Studio at a zero price.
If you chose Krotos Studio Genesis, you will get both Krotos Studio and the Genesis Sound Pack added to your cart.
Click on Proceed to Checkout button and you will be directed to a checkout page.
Please fill in your information on the checkout page. You’ll be asked to sign in if you already have an account on our website. You can reset your password if you’ve forgotten it.
You can continue with the checkout and provide a new password if you do not already have an account with us.
Click the Place Order button once you’ve filled in all the information and ticked the terms and conditions checkbox.
You will be directed to the order confirmation page where you will find your licence key (to activate Krotos Studio when using it) and download links. Your licence key and download links will also be emailed to you.
If you purchased Krotos Studio Genesis, you will also receive the Genesis Sound Pack’s download link.
Please make sure to install Krotos Studio before installing the Genesis Sound Pack.
You can also find any time your download links and licence keys in your Krotos account.
How to install Krotos Studio?
Once you have downloaded Krotos Studio, you will receive Krotos Studio in a zip file. To extract a zip file, you need to right click the file and select “Extract All…”.
You will then receive the installer.
You can now open it, allow the app to make changes to your device and install it.
On Windows, select the “Standalone” if you want to use Krotos Studio with any video editing software, game engines or audio software.
On MAC, follow the guidelines as instructed and make sure you tick the format you want before installing.
Click Finish and follow the instructions below on how to use Krotos Studio and how to activate it.
How to install Krotos Studio Genesis?
If you purchased Krotos Studio Genesis, once you have finished installing Krotos Studio, you can install the Genesis Sound Pack.
Extract the zip file called “KrotosStudio_GenesisSoundPack” and open the installer called “Krotos Studio DLC1 Setup”.
Allow the app to make changes to your device and install it.
You can now load Krotos Studio and see the Genesis Sound Pack included in Krotos Studio.
How to use Krotos Studio?
If you have selected “Standalone” as a format, you will be able to use Krotos Studio with any video editing software, game engines or audio software. Once you have installed it, the software will appear on your desktop.

How to use Krotos Studio in a DAW?
If you want to use Krotos Studio in a DAW, you will find it under the instrument plugin list (i.e it generates sound rather than processes incoming audio) in your DAW, or under ‘Krotos’.
Create an instrument/MIDI track and add the plugin to this track to get started. If you need to create an instrument track with options between mono or stereo (e.g. in Pro Tools), choose stereo.

How to activate Krotos Studio?
To begin using Krotos Studio, you will need to activate it using a licence key.
Once you have received the product through checkout, you will be emailed a licence key. You can also find any time your licence key in your Krotos account.
Simply copy and paste this key into the popup window that will appear when you have installed and run Krotos Studio on your desktop or in your DAW of choice. Hit ‘Activate’ to activate the licence.
By default all copies of Krotos Studio have 2 activations available (e.g. one for a work machine, one for a personal machine). If you have inputted your key incorrectly, or the key is invalided, you will see a red licence prompt.
Please note that Krotos Studio does not use iLok, and does not require download or installation of any other software or tools to run it.
