As 2017 draws to a close, we’re taking a look back at this year’s top highlights. From attending conferences globally, to securing investment from videogame visionary Leslie Benzies and seeing our products used in some of the year’s top-watched tv series’, it’s surely been a year we’ll never forget.

Most excitedly, this year we launched three industry-revolutionising products: Dehumaniser Live, Reformer and Reformer Pro. With Dehumaniser Live, we delivered the runtime vocal processing that game developers have been seeking for years. It was even featured at the Sundance Film Festival as part of Within’s Life of Us VR title and is incorporated into Wanderword’s highly-anticipated audio-based interactive stories.

Reformer and Reformer Pro, our industry-changing plugins, gave sound artists the freedom to sculpt effects in real-time. With these two tools, sound effects come alive as they are preformed, whether they be from the artists’ own collection or from our webstore’s database of more than 100 Reformer-compatible sound libraries. All in all, our Reformer technology was an instant industry success, even being used in the Game of Thrones season finale, giving life to Viserion the Ice Dragon.

Our Dehumaniser plugins also remain to be extremely successful. With being used in Stranger Things 2, The Last Dragon Slayer, Torment: Tides of Numenéra, Vainglory and The Exorcist, it is great to see the film and video game community continue to find our tools so valuable to their products. Plus, once again we were a finalist for a Develop Award in Design and Creativity Tools, which was another great honour.

There are, of course, lots of other projects we can’t mention yet, but it was a great year for us here at Krotos – out best yet! With lots of exciting developments in the works, 2018 is already looking to top the immense success we had this year.
